Isn't that the reason to be Emo in the first place?

If your asking this question then you need to sit down and do some real thinking. Are you emo because you wanted a rise out of them? or did you do it so that you could fit in somewhere? Or is it what really truly describes you and you feel comfortable. If you feel comfortable then, what you need to do is go to your parents and explain it to them, why you dress the way you do, etc. and explain to them its not about alienating them, or anything else, its about expressing who you are at the moment.

If you know that you need to stop being emo then quit..if thats even possible. But trying not to be emo will probably make you even more emo soo...?? Try not being emo around your parents

No. you should continue to express your own identity and personality. in order to get along with parents, maybe when you are home, try not to wear too much eyeliner or what not.
sometimes ill wear normal jeans and and have eyelines amounts and my parents think im hanging out with bad kids (parents dont realize that emo kids are straight x edge! (no drugs no sex no drinking till 21 at least).

also tell them to realize people arent what they appear. they may be rich but they think money buys friends. they could be the dumbest people (blonde.) but the clothes attract attention.

tell them you are a nice person just like to express the truth and the feelings you have. tell them society now gets wierder but your still gonna be you and be friendly with people,. and yes tell them its ok to cry. and express.
cause some just keep inside and expect to just be accepted by a group.

NO! Don't stop. If it is who you are, then continue to be that person. If it's all an act...then yes, do stop.
No, I'm not calling you a poser, I'm just pointing that out b/c I don't know you.
If you wish to go by your parents will, then stop. If you want to be yourself...do what you want to do.
In my opinion, if your family can not accept you for who you are, they aren't much of a family.

How do you stop being something you are? You either are emo or you're not. It's not like putting on a jacket, is it?

I don't even understand what the hell emo means. But if you define your life by how you are labeled (by yourself, your friends, or society) you probably need to grow up.

YES!!! Emo is an awful stage. You'll feel better when you're out of it, and your parents will totally appreciate it! :-)
