If you could get what you wanted done by manipulating the person rather than nagging or bribing or getting angry at them would you do it ?
or do you think it is morally wrong to manipulate people for whatever reason.?
Do we all not manipulate people to a certain extent within our lifetime.?
What if what you want them to do is for their own good ? does that make it more acceptable ?

It depends.
If what you want them to do is for their own good, then its ok; the end justifies the means.
But if you, for example, pretend to love a man when all you want is his money, then NO it is morally reprehensible and totally unacceptable.
It all depends on your motives. Little harmless things that don't hurt anyone are ok. But if you are hurting someone or messing with their feelings, that's not cool.
(And yes we all manipulate to some extent, often without even realizing we are doing it! That is how natural it becomes. We learn to do it in childhood, when we are very young. In adulthood, some of us are better at it than others... and use it with moral judgement or without...)

Everyone manipulates people to a certain extent. It could be through compromise, you let him/her have their way in one matter so you can have your way in another. That is common sense.
Manipulation for your own ends no matter what is another matter. It demeans the person you are manipulating and can hurt them deeply, because you are never willing to take their feelings/thoughts/needs into consideration. Then you wonder why you have lost a friend/partner.

manipulation as a word sounds so wrong. bt u argue a fair point. of course almost everthing can be explained or justified to make oneself feel better but its stil manipulation. only you can know when your reasons are the right ones, in which case you wouldnt use the word manipulation for that specific situation, and when you do it for the wrong reasons you will have to deal with that in a seperate way knowing that you are a selfish and MANIPULATIVE person!

if it is for their own good, it is acceptable...but if it is just for ur benefits...then its wrong. and it is lieing actually..because u r making them think one thing when its the opposite...u r telling them things to make them think something u want them to think of. just imagining someone doing that to someone seems VERY mean! manipulating and persuading are not the same thing. im 13 so i try to persuade my dad to let me do things sometimes...but manipulating him would be making him think im watching tv in my room when im actually sneaking out the window. ...ive neverf done that and never will...but it was an example. do u see what im saying...but now if u persuade ur parents to let u do something...and then go do something else and that was ur plan all along...that is manipulating which is the same thing as lieing.

i hope that helps! =]

I think its very wrong to manipulate people for your own ends when you are more than capable of doing things yourself, been manipulative isn't something to be proud of and it scares people off too.

If it's in someone's best interests and they do not get hurt in the process then I do think it's acceptable. If it's for the users benefit then I do think that it is morally wrong.
We have all done it, whether intentional or not. And those who say they haven't are lying!

Manupulating is fine as long as it doesn't involve deception. being tactful is an example of good manipulation, getting pregnant to trap a guy is a bad manipulation.

Depends... If you are doing so to advoid nagetivities, for example... say your bf wants to go out but you don't so instead of fighting him, you tell him that you don't feel well, even tho you are totally fine, I don't think its "wrong". But if you are doing so to get what you want no matter the cost...for example... your bf wants to leave you so you get him to sleep you for one last time and get pregnant so he won't leave you... that is totally wrong and evil.
