Leave it in D4, it will shift down on it's own if it needs too. If you put it in D3 you'll end up forgetting to shift back to D4 at higher speeds and consume a lot more fuel.

Always use the D4 as it will save you gas. The D3 should only be used in very hilly terrain while going downhill to aid with engine braking (the same goes for low and D2, except both may also be used to free a stuck vehicle from ice, snow or mud).

Just use D4, but if you feel your engine is straining when going up a steep hill you can shift into D3, that's what its there for! Have a good day!

You can drive in D4 all the time. D3 is really only for special situations where you might be climbing alot of steep hills or pulling a trailer.

only use d4, conserves gas also. just like Louis said D3 is for special purposes.

D4 is fine. I've driven my Accord in D3 maybe three times in the five years I've owned it and I've had no problems with it.
