in the game hexen, a first person shooter, you are not a monster.
you are a warlock (wizard) and your weapon is the magic shot/charge from your wand/scepter (usually)
or you are a cleric with a spiked mace, or a fighter with various weapons. most people played the demo version, and are only familiar with the mage character.

I believe you are thinking of the game Hexen, an early '90s game. Hexen II was published around 1997 and ran on the Quake engine. Similar to other action/adventure games like the early Doom, Heretic, and Blood.
You may want to google it, it was distributed by Activision games, developed by Raven software. Or you could search eBay or Amazon... It came for the pc, but I think the original playstation also had a version of the game.

You're thinking of Hexen. It's pretty old so I don't think you will find it very easily. I did find Hexen 2 on amazon though. Look it up

It's called Hexen. There was also a Hexen 2. I think it was by the guys who made Doom.

Hexen - That's a old game, I haven't played that in a long time. You may have trouble getting it now, and you certainly wont get it new.
