1 does any one really think simon cowell is a jerk or is he just acting out his part for the cameras,and do you think paula is really a alcoholic.

i love simon because he's honest, and that refreshing. i tired of people telling them oh you sing great, when they don't. and yeah, i think something is wrong with paula

I think Simon Cowell is a arrogant a$$ in real life as well as on the show, but who cares, that's how most men are these days anyways, and as for Paula being an alcoholic.... as bad as half the American Idol's have been that have been picked these past 2 years, I would probably want to be drunk when I had to listen to them as well.

I know almost everyone thinks Simon is a jerk, but I think he is just telling the truth. And sometimes the truth hurts. I like Simon and I usually agree with him. Paula is just silly. I don't think she is an alcoholic. Sometimes she really beats around the bush when criticizing the contestants. Just tell it like it is Paula!

I think Simon is a jerk just because of hte cameras. I think while he may have an attitude like that in real life, I think it's much worse in front of the cameras. I also think that the little hatred between him and Ryan is staged just to keep things interesting. I do think Paula is an alcoholic. There's just so much evidence against her that's hard to believe that she "doesn't drink - ever" according to an interview she had.

honestly? i think that simon is kind of a jerk in real life but the producers of AI wanted him to play it up to get better ratings and attention directed towards the show. You have to admit that he does make the show more amusing to watch so that wouldn't surprise me.

on the other hand, I do not think that Paula Abdul is really an alcoholic...alcoholics by definition must be drunk a good percentage of the time....while she seems to have had just one bad interview which she was drunk for, which is the difference between getting drunk and alcoholism.

I think Simon is just doing his job. Randy and Paula are both the kind of people who don't want to hurt your feelings but Simon's job is to not dance around the subject of whether you suck or not. Some people need to be told point-blank that they aren't any good. Sure, sometimes he is a little meaner than he needs to be, but I think he has a lot of pressure. He is the creator of American Idol and Pop Star (in the UK) and America's Got Talent. What always gets me is the people who are like, "You ain't even American. You shouldn't be judging because 'dis ain't yo country." When, without Simon, there'd be no Idol.

And Paula, I guess she could be. But I think Simon drives her to it. =)

I just think Simon doesn't believe in pulling any punches and isn't going to sugar-coat his comments to spare feelings. I know a few people who are like this and that's simply their personality and you get used to it. Paula isn't an alcoholic, but I think she does have something else going on. May-be a chemical imbalance or something that makes her act goofy.

I think he's probably always been a jerk, and now that so many people watch that show, he has to live up to his reputation. I don't know if Paula's an alcoholic, but I definnitely think she's a little crazy.

I think simon has the most usable criticism and people don't like him because he's truthful...well guess what america?! the truth hurts!

and paula's criticism comes out of her ***. she never knows what she's talking about. now, she might be an alcoholic, but that "drunk" act she plays on TV, isn't an act. she's just stupid.
