I'll not give you ideas, because that defeats the purpose of being an author, as they should be your own stories, but I will give you advice.

Don't just write what you know, write what you'd read. If you'd not pick up one of your own books and read it if it were done by another author, don't bother writing it.

write what you know, that can't be said enough. You're interested in horror, now figure out just what type you are good at...by that I mean, do you like writing about monsters, ghost stories, or a mixture of genres, such as sci-fi/horror, fantasy/horror, etc.

Read ALOT, this will help you know what's out there already on the market and not repeat it. Realize now, it's probably already been written at some point, the way you write is unique to YOU, use that to your advantage, you may find your "voice" right away or it could take years, but when you do find that "voice" that makes the work yours, you'll know it, trust me. It took me a few years until I figured out just exactly where my talents lie, basically stumbled onto my voice, but once I did, I knew it. Things just opened up at that point. Be prepared to write ALOT of crap, it's natural and part of the process, don't go expecting to even finish your first attempt at a novel, you may, but chances are you won't, and if you do, it certainly WON'T resemble your original idea very much.

hang in there, and just start writing, read alot, you don't have to take writing classes, but they do help more than hurt.

Good luck

Hey! I'm also a budding author! But I can tell you now that you cannot make it in the literature world if you need to come on Yahoo Answers asking complete strangers for ideas! Perhaps you have writers block...The best thing you can do about that is to carry a pen and notebook, recording any places or ideas that pop into your head at random moments! They really do come at strange times! You just have to be patient. Read a lot, as it will expand your vocabulary and help with spelling.
Good luck!!

Well I'm an avid reader, but I don't write much. I do enjoy horror and thriller/romances. I think you should read books that you like, so you can get the same sort of ideas from it. And then, when an idea pops, you can sort of pave the way faster.
