I was divorced in the state of Milton Florida , concerning domestic violence. My husband and I agreed to see one lawyer to save money , he was so controlling I dare not to talk back. He hasn't done what he says he was going to do on the divorce degree and I also found out he purposely didn't put the 401 k in the degree, which was built up during our marriage. Has anyone been through this before and can help me find out what my legal rights are, because of all of this I am having a really hard time making it with my daughter. Thank you.

... decree. You need to get a lawyer and take him back to court. It's a bummer for now, but will be beneficial to you and your daughter in the long run. If money is a problem, ask your parents for help. They'll do it, they love you.

You have one big problem, most judges will not look at anything prior to the divorce, because all of the issues should have been taken care of at that time. You would have been entitled to half of the value of the 401K but I am not sure you have any chance at it now. Best to consult a lawyer and see if you have any options. If you cannot afford a lawyer, look for a community law firm that helps out those who normally cant afford one, check with your local courthouse and the should be able to refer you. Good Luck.

It is a decree, unless you are referring to a certificate from a university.

Ask a lawyer, you might get misinformed on here.
