Mostly just water them once a week and they grow fine. As soon as the ground seems dry, drench it. Also put them near the sun.

Just think... you did to your tree, what you can easily do to yourself if you just get in your bikini and lie in the sun for a day or 2 after being covered all winter... You burned it. Try to bring it back in the house in a shaded spot and let it recover. Go easy on the watering but keep it moist, not soaked... it may recover. If not, get another and introduce it SLOWLY to the direct sun outside.
