Hub bearings are the replacement parts for what used to be called the inner and outer wheel bearings. They had to start using hub bearings as the front wheel drive axles had to be in the center of the wheel so a new design was found. They also use hub bearings in the rear wheels as most do not have any driveline back there anyways. A lot of the hubs have the wheel speed sensors in them which is handy for guys like me. These are generally a very expensive part, but not too bad as far as replacing as they are sticking out of the car. Special sockets are usually required to remove the bolts. Good luck.

Here is a photo of the 2001 Mirage rear axle bearing and hub assembly (hub bearing): http://info.rockauto.com/BeckArnley/Detail.html?0516077.jpg

The part costs about $70 each. Labor should be an hour or less.
