I'd say: John Lennon

But in actuality, they all were.

Active Years:
John Lennon = 1957 - 1980
The Big Bopper = 1958 -1959
Elvis Presley = 1954 -1977
Buddy Holly = 1956 -1959

Well technically speaking, John Lennon was getting his start while being in a band back in 1958-59. He just wasn't famous yet. So I would say there aren't any. All are from the 1950s

They all were. John Lennon started The Quarry Men skiffle band in 1957. George Harrison and Stu Sutcliffe joined in 1958.
EDIT - some editing going on above me I see.
