If you were a cartoon mouse, I would tell you to pick up the buckets and carry the water from the well. Poor mistreated broom.

If you were a child, I would tell you to wait. The reality of adulthood will come fast enough.

If you were a lunatic, I would tell you that it does not matter. Your fantasy and reality are mixed so tightly that you cannot start or stop just one without the other.

If you were a philosopher, I would tell you to think about it first, second and third.

But, perhaps none of these is correct. Discipline of the mind does not change the heart. Cooling the heart does not improve the mind. Perhaps you just need to remember that more of Reality is changed Because of the Dreams and Fantasies and people than for any other reason or combination of reasons.

We make our fantasies real by Doing, not by thinking, not by feeling, not by talking, not by writing but by doing. Doing makes it Real.

Here are a few exercises to help you move your mind into the right place. As a young person if you are to be committed to bringing your reality to bear, you will need some basic foundations.

First of all, you should be able to sit in a comfortable position for 15 minutes paying attention to nothing but your breathing. This will take some practice.

Next, you should be able to sit WITHOUT MOVING for 15 minutes, paying attention to nothing but your breathing. This will be harder, even if you are in excellent shape. Your body and brain will attempt to move. You will resist this, even if it is unpleasant. This is a very basic exercise for strengthening your willpower to carry out your intentions. Your reality is not going to come if you give up when things get hard, or if habits overpower your will.

Once the sensation of intent overriding habit is familiar to you, you are ready to practice changing who you are. You should start very small, by removing habits that don't have much consequence in the world. For example - identify a word you use frequently, and stop using it. At first you will not be able to catch yourself, but what is most important is noticing immediately when you have used the word. After a week it will be easy. This is a good example of an exercise because there is no risk in failure. Anything that doesn't threaten to destabilize you psychologically or financially will work at this extremely early stage.

You do not want to be discouraged by early failure, and in matters of self-discipline if you cannot take the long view, you will appear to be nothing but a failure forever. You must understand that a human life can and should be an epic, not a wallow in comfort. Every human life has hardship and excruciating pain. This cannot be avoided, only ignored.

You MUST have a strong, unwavering intent here. You must be able to clearly state your goals. You must be able to notice, immediately, when your behavior and actions are contrary to your goals.

If you practice these exercises faithfully for the next six months, you will not have to ask a question like this again, except to yourself. As you pay attention to the way your internal self structures your external self, there will be no limit to the possible avenues you might wish to explore.

The above answer is not correct. There is only one OBJECTIVE reality, but every human being experiences it differently. That SUBJECTIVE reality is unique...YOUR way of seeing the world.

I think what you're saying is, "How can I stop dreaming about the future and start DOING something about, it right?" Here's a way to get started...

1. Think about what's most important to you, what matters.

2. Set a goal to achieve more of that.

3. Figure out a good way to get there from here...a plan.

4. Ask yourself...what will be my first step...

5. Begin. Just do one small thing towards getting something you really care about.

Good luck on your journey!

What is reality?

The quality or state of being actual or true.

One, such as a person, an entity, or an event, that is actual.

The totality of all things possessing actuality, existence, or essence.

That which exists objectively and in fact.

'Your' reality? Is your reality somehow different than our reality? Either there is only one reality, or there is none. You stop fantasizing by excercising some self-control and discipline.
