I think that after all these years, we do - in a sense - take each other "for granted."

By that, I mean we have come to count on, depend on a certain amount of reliability and pleasure from one another. We remember to be thankful and we compliment one another, but we definitely are used to having things good.

Yes, I take for granted that he is going to get up and go to work, he takes for granted that I will do the same. I take for granted that he will be home afterwards, and he takes me for the same. I take for granted that he doesn't do things that are outside of our trust of one another. He takes for granted that I don't either. I take for granted that when there is the one person who will be there for me, it is him and he takes me for granted the same.

I thanked him yesterday for taking out the trash. He thanked me for making his deposit at the bank and paying the bills. He kissed me this morning and told me to have a good day. I told him I was proud of him for the way he handled a hairy situation. He thanked me for picking up his daughter. I hugged him and told him that he smelled good, even after working outside all day. He tells me I'm was sexy. I tell him how good he looks in his new shirt that matches his eyes.

Yes, we take some things for granted, but appreciate each other a whole lot more.

No & no. I've learned from past bad experiences not to take people for granted.

Everyone uses everyone, now it depends on whether its negativly or in a positive way. Momma always said we came in this world alone and we will leave it alone but the quality of life ends and begins with what you take and give to the world through the people you encounter!

Sometimes yes. It works both ways. You have to try and stay sharp especially for those of us who have been married a while. When you notice you are doing that, you have to stop and find a way to make it up to your spouse.

I think when you get real comfortable in a marriage you are inclined to be like that & its not good because some people act differently & feel like they are not loved & thats when problems can set in
so when i realise I have been doing that I try to make up & show my appreciation more
