OK so my coputer says that they were never installed and dont tell me to go to the controll panel and all that because a already tried. And yes there connected in the right spot. Its an e-machines computer

I would have told you to reinstall the drivers, but thats ruled out.
If you have another pair of speakers put them on to test the output. Alternatively just plug in your headphones to test the Sound system and make sure SOME sound is happening.
If it is delivering headphone sound, just try a new set of drivers from the Makers of the Speakers, that way it makes sure you have an uncorrupted version of the drivers

double clk the speaker icon near the clock and see if the mute box is checked. If so, uncheck it.
If you have msn messenger there is a sound test on the buddy list window.
