The region around Kashmir is undergoing continent-continent convergence. However, much of the strain is this collision is displaced by strike-slip motion, which is transform faulting. I know that strike-slip motion is in Tibet, but I do not know if it is in Kashmir. I would think it is convergence, if I had to make an intelligent guess.
