It sounds like the timing is off. It maybe possible you have a clogged fuel filter. Get the car in for a dianostic test. Don't rely on just one mechanic, unless you trust them. Most places with do this for under $100.
What type of gas are you using? It's better to go by manufacturer recommendations, which is almost always the highest grade. Maybe try a fuel cleaner that you can pour into your tank when you fill up next time before taking it into the mechanic and see if that helps.
Good Luck.

Timing belts were first utilized in Asian made autos especially jap some time previous to 1985. I particularly do no longer understand individuals made autos utilising timing belts. They use timing chain quite. Your 1994 Buick i assume has the timing chain. 2002 Mitsubishi has timing belt resembling my 2000 Acura 3.2TL. The vendors guide states that the timing belt could get replaced each and each 100K miles. I evaluate this stinks. It prices round 7-800 money for the alternative reason also they replace the water pump and the completed different serpentine belts jointly they are it. I knew a buddy who had a Nissan 200SX which ran sufficient for 250K miles without the belt being replaced. you'll damage out with now no longer replacing it at curious about the existence of the vehicle yet on the different hand it may ruin on you and your engine is historic previous.

Fuel filters are designed to be changed every 30,000 miles, roughly, depending upon the vehicle. Furthermore, gas with an octane rating of 89 has lots more contaminants than gas with an octane rating of 93. Using higher octane gas also puts less stress on your engine. You can try a fuel injection cleaner, but it might also be time for new spark plugs, usually changed around every 60,000 miles.

I would get a premium tune-up and change the fuel filter on the car. The spark plugs could be very bad and causing most of the problems.

It can be a bad fuel filter or maybe the fuel itself.

Bad or contaminated fuel, rust in the bottom of the tank or possibly dirt in the tank can also have the same effects.

i answered this same question last week, find the EGR valve, take it out and give it a good cleaning, inside there is a little plunger that works back and forth, if it get hung up with carbon deposits it does what you described, and a good tune up would help a lot too ! go to the library and look at a Chilton's auto repair book to find the EGR,.

Yeah, I would have it tuned up, and have them check the fuel pump too, just to be on the safe side.
