Never gonna happen...
America and Britain are already great for what they are.
Americans are very different from the British in a lot of way so this will not be good for policy making and ll that.
Another thing...having an American state so close to Europe might irk the nations around and spark tensions once silent.

I do not believe that Britain would want to become the 51 state. The combining of the two countries would be far two complicated. I also do not see much upside to the addition.
