If you have a problem with it, just stop doing business with the government and you wont have to worry about it.

So I should quit my job because I think it's BS to have to provide a letter of explanation if I eliminate a minority from a job pool, but I could toss a white person just because?

Racism is racsim, period. Reverse discrimination is still discrimination.

Why is it that the policies the left insists are equalizers are the same policies that point out all of our differences? Seems to me that we all have far more in common than we do different. Why focus on the differences?

And I am really at a loss here - I don't understand at all how you can think it's okay to hire a minority who isn't necessairily the best candidate for the job - if he is being hired JUST because of his race, how in the hell is that not racist?!?

Im a minotiry, and although I don't totally believe in the way affirmative action is applied, I do believe some sort of sytem needs to be put in place. The "best man for the job" doesn't cut it, and if you work in the business world, you should know all too well that most promotions are given to friends or people with some sort of connection.

There still are a lot of racist people out there. I think most people are "casualy" racist, meaning that they may not like a certain race, or even most none-whites, but not strongly enought to do anything about it.

Affirmation Action just levels the playing field. It wouldn't have been setup in the first place if there wasn't a problem with minorites being passed up for jobs or promations because of race. If you have a better solution to the problem, Id like to hear it. But doing nothing, isn't good enough.

But then you would have to avoid public schools/universities, the postal service, the mint, etc. It also isn't just the government that is subject to Title IIV. As far as whether those who complain actually understand it, I would guess it's about 50/50. There are many people who still have first hand experiences with affirmative action and the negative results therefrom. I am not opposed to it, when it is being used in a place of known past descrimination (as the law sets forth), but we need to start looking at individuals for who they are as a whole, not the color of their skin, their gender or orientation.

My brother couldnt get into a college pharmacist program becuase they had too many white guys already and they were waiting for a minority to apply to give the spot to.

So .. by your example just dont go to college, dont work for the government, dont work for anyone who does business with the government, dont work in any large corporations.
ummmm yea right.

I know exactly how it works. Race is used as the determining factor for employment and college admittance instead of competence. It's an insult to minorities. It suggests that they are inferior and unable to compete fairly.

I think that everyone knows that affirmative action works.
But some people don't agree with discrimination against whites.

Okay......... You're solution is to let minorities build every single piece of infrastructure in the US.
