All my jeans are too lengthy or too wide. I'm approximately 5'6", and I'm ready to shop online for jeans. What's the average length of jeans for someone around 5'6"?

Measure yourself or go try on some jeans, that way you'll know what size you are.

To find your insem all you need to do is measure from your crocth down to whatever point you are comfortable with your jeans comign to. I am 5'6 1/2" and have a 33 inch inseam my husband is 6' and has a 34 inch inseam, so you can't just match someone of same height really.

Have you considered having coffee with a close friend and a tape measure? If you want to know what length is yours measure from your crotch to the floor (that is the inseam size.) Waist is pretty self explanatory. Be cautious on line. Make sure of the return policy for the company with which you are dealing.

I agree, try various sizes on. If your waist is 32 - 34, you could be a sz 12. every 2 inches more is 2 sizes larger & vise verse. If your waste is 28 inches, you may be a sz. 8 or smaler. It's only an estimated guess.

I would go with a 30" inseam. If you prefer a break in the leg go with a 32" inseam.

Go to a tailor and ask for your measurements. No one on the internet can tell you this.
