Also, anybody who has told there ob/gyn and when interviewing pediatricians that they wanted to breastfeed esclusivally and still kept getting formula from them? this is quite stressful

Just give the formula to your local food bank... a lot of the reason he may still be giving it to you is just in case you are unable to produce enough milk at first, you may have to substitute with formula. As for the other question, I don't know, but your baby will be here soon, so good luck!

Your baby is swallowing amniotic fluid, getting his mouth ready for being born. So unfortunately there's nothing you can do to prevent his hiccups. The cure above will only help yours.

As to formula, I think it's quite obnoxious that they give you formula even when you talk about breastfeeding. Even if it takes a while for milk to come in, it's not a good idea to supplement right away since it may make it harder to get them back on the breast. They need very little in the first few days - their stomach is the size of a chickpea! Anyway, good luck.

There is nothing you can do about the hiccups, trust me. Why are they giving you formula? Do you mean like samples or something. Just tell them you are not interested.

Hiccups are caused by the diaphram under the lungs becoming inbalanced... sounds nasty but there's a dead cert easy cure... breathe in carbon dioxide (ie breathe into a bag deeply for about a minute)... the inbalance rights itself and the hiccups stop :)
