when i walk alot (such as around a big store), i start to get sharp pains shooting down. its not my whole stomic. it feels like the baby is sticking a needle down trying to poke her way out of me. it this normal? once i sit down, the pain goes away completely. i asked my mom if she ever had those pains, but she said no.

If you are 38 weeks and you are having sharp pains, look out the baby might be on the way. everytime you get a sharp pain time it, and see how much time is in between the pains. you might be having contractions. good luck i hope you get to see your new baby soon.

I am 36 weeks and have the same pain. My doctor told me that it was my pelvic bone and pelvis stretching. When I started having the pain I thought I was going to pop out down there. I have came to think thats its just a werid place for muscle pain. I find that when I do my shopping take lots of breaks and make sure your bladders is empty, that also is putting on the pressure. You should always let your doctor know too.

In my opinion, your baby could just be in a place to make your leg hurt when you get up and move. You may want to try to move your baby around some. OR you could be having pre labor pains. Call the doc and ease your mind. Good luck.
