I need to unroll a bunch of aluminium foil and then reroll it in smaller packages. how can i get it to stay straight on the tube as i'm rolling it back up? whenever I try- it veers off course and I can't keep it straight. is there something i could build or a way to keep it straight?

The biggest key to rolling it straight this that you start it straight. just because you cut it straight does not mean it is straight. There is noway that I know of except trial and error to do this. We have laminaters at work that we do this with but the same applies it all depends on starting the roll. The bigger diameter core you use to start with the easier it is to adjust.

unroll it directly to another roll from the original, start it straight and it should stay straight,,,go slow

they take a big block of aluminum and they flaten it with pressure rollers and as its flatend they roll it up watch how its made on discovery cannel if you have it
