I was giving power of attorney on a 15 year old child. At the time she was 5 months pregnant. Her stepfather gave me the power of attorney on this girl. When the baby was born the mother and father of the baby granted me power of attorney over the baby (both mother and father of the child was 16 at this time.) Now that the mother is 17 years old she gave me a Revocation of Power of Attorney on her. She stated that she is of legal age so she can revoke the Power of Attorney that I was granted. And told me that the power of Attorney over the baby is revoke because she is of age.

Call your lawyer. It doesn't sound right. She may have been emancipated but that doesn't automatically revoke power of attorney over her minor child.

I'm sure it depends on where you live. Some states say 18 is the legal age for matters like this. While others will say a 16 year old is mature enough to do so.
