Criticism is as much a part of the mental aspect of sports as it is real life. That should not get taken away.

But the VULGAR, THOUGHTLESS VIOLENT STUPIDITY at games MUST be taken out permanently. Hockey Dads, hang your heads. Ron Artest, have a nice WWE career. How can a budding star be taught the real value of sport with beer-swilling clods and failure-scared parents ruining the learning experience?

The state of Washington strikes me as a state on the verge of totalitarianism. No where but Washington have I seen official road signs like "Be a Hero - Turn in a Drunk Driver 800-***-****" or "Be a Hero Turn in a Car Pool Lane Violator 800-***-****". So it comes as no surprise that the state would also want to create heroes of those who turn in a heckler. Booing is a part of sports. The only sport where booing should be banned is the Special Olympics.

I think it's unfortunate that it has to come to a "booing ban." When I was younger, we were taught about good sportsmanship. Today, everything has to be a rule or a law. It's ridiculous. Nobody wants to be responsible for one on one communication. I think it's just silly (the ban part) although I think booing is rude.

If the good people of the State of Washington would have raised their children correctly, there would be no need for such a ban.

My parents taught me that one doesn't "boo" at a sporting event. I've always found people that DO "boo" to be beyond the valley of good taste.

I think it would. Regardless of the fact that they are occasionally bulked up and ramming into one another, the people on the field are still minors, and they don't need to be booed at, mainly by insane adults in the stands.

thats jus t wrong of them... It is very rude and distracting to BOO, but.. what happened to freedom of speech? I know 'boo' isnt exactly a word, but.. its just wrong to shut someone up like that.. but, you gotta do what you gotta do ;)
