I got the idea for this question from another question called "What are you doing to empower women in your community?"

Men and women need empowerment equally.

You're right. I'm going to sound like a stuck up white male, and before I say this understand that I truly do believe in equality and that is what motivates this, but just because you have been deemed inferior before doesn't mean you can claim to be superior now. Equality means equal, and that means nobody has to be empowered. Let us all help whoever needs help and try to not look at sex, race, sexual preference, religion, or the such. We are humans, it is time we start actng humane.

Fireball 226, are you from Saudi Arabia? You're obviously not from around here; all a woman has to do is walk up to a door, and a guy will open it.

Men are expected to carry the heavy stuff and do the car servicing. Men are expected to kill the spiders. Men are expected to hold jobs, even if women don't. Men are expected to pay for dinner and drinks, expected to drive us places, and expected not to belch/expel flatulence/cuss/tell dirty jokes/look at women/talk about sports/behave like males when they're around us.

If you ask me, I'd say that there is no equality here; we women have them right where we want them, if we're smart enough to use our power.

Why on Earth would I want to empower men? I'm at the top of my game; I can tip my husband like a cow!

...On a more serious note, I "empower" my husband by letting him lead. If nothing else, it's bolstered his confidence enough to get him a massive promotion and insane amounts of respect from his co-workers--and his boss! Funny how people will treat a man, if they know his wife lets him wear the pants (and that wife is a licensed attorney and a genius).

I agree. To empower men, I think we should help them by encouraging them to open up about themselves. Too often I see men who have been raped by women (and yes, it is possible) ridiculed for not being "manly" enough to defend themselves. I've also seen men called "gay" for talking about their feelings.

This shouldn't be happening. True equality does not give preference to either gender.

Thank you for asking this very important question. I have to be honest: I have not given a lot of thought to men's empowerment before today, so therefore I have not done much to support it.

Tell them NEVER get married! This will also empower women to get their own lives, not take 1/2 of ours.

Great question. I pretty much restate what I said in the one about empowering women. To empower men, I don't treat them (or think of them) as oversexed animals who "can't help themselves" and aren't responsible for their own behavior. We don't even treat children like that! I also try to avoid over-generalizations like "they are...."

Then why on one of your questions, say about three weeks ago, did you ask why women should be allowed to attend univeristy? You are a hypocrite and this isnt how your really feel, not being yourself is even worse then being a jerk. You really cant win can you

Thanks to the feminazi movement, everyone ignores men, particularly boys in public school. It's one thing for women to want equal rights (which they've had for a long time), and another thing to want to castrate any man they see.

Anyone who thinks that teenage girls are taught negatively about sex should look no further than the feminists, who teach them to hate men and that ALL sex is rape.
