Not in the last few years, they were crap then and they are now. 15+ years ago though - now you're talkin!

As I have not lived in the UK for five years or so you may say I am not qualified to comment on this question. But living abroad gives you a different perspective from living in the UK.
Talking to my expat friends and colleagues of all nationalities, the BBC, in particular, is lauded as the best broadcasting organisation in the world.
I think it went through a 'dumming down' period but has learned from the criticism and now makes programmes that are watched by many millions of people across the world.
Reality shows are nothing more than cheap crap TV and should be done away with forthwith.

I would have to disagree. The BBC has realised that if you make quality programming then you can sell them for a profit. Look at Dr Who, Spooks, Top Gear, The Office, Hustle , love em or hate em they are well written, well directed pieces of work, compare this to the tripe 10 years ago and the quality has improved massivley.
The US has excelled itself with television in the last few years also. How many US dramas and comedys have the radio and all your friends been talking about recently? Its a shame that us Brits havnt kept up....

There are still a few good programmes on, but often I find we have more channels to choose from and nothing worth watching. There are far too many repeats for a start. Also there seems to be too many violent or outrageously smutty programmes on. In a house with teen agers this is not much fun!

there are some good programmes but i think reality tv takes over all the channels . i dont know about you but im sick of seeing the sameold sameold your dancing on ice your x factors lets face all these are just a way of getting more money out of us dont we pay enough with the bbc licensing fee!!!!

me too! absolutly dire! bobinogs is rank! barney blows goats yet hi5 must be the worst wot a rip off of relaxing music production unit. now come outdoors is cool and the element with sporticus in is growing to be on me . yet u cant beat golden oldies like the muppets!

too many reality and talent shows same crap different title. i think life on mars is one of the few decent things on tv
