I'm going to give you one great suggestion for a fantastic book. Please read it, it is worth your time.
"Wise Child" by Monica Furlong.
Check out the reviews at Amazon. It is an unforgettable book that changed the way I saw the world. I first read it at age 13 but I reread it all the time.

No one has mentioned Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, but it's pretty good - a romance/adventure between a girl that moves from Phoenix to a small northern town and a young looking vampire that is attracted to her as well as her blood.

Someone else mentioned The Giver. There are a couple of other Lois Lowry books that come after: Gathering Blue and messenger. The third book just came out. They take place in a possible future. Interesting.

Another series in the same type of vein is by Scott Westerfeld. Uglies, Pretties and Specials - when you turn 16, you get an operation and become Pretty - they're only job is to have fun. One young girl is denied the operation because her good friend ran away - she can have it if she leads the city to the runaways. And that's where the adventure begins. Pretty good stuff.

Gary Paulsen has some good books. Have you read Hatchet? He has many, including a historical title about a young boy joining the army during the Civil War called Soldier's Heart.

Alice Hoffman has a couple of good ones, too. I liked The Green Angel a lot, but it's too short. A few other shorts ones she has are Indigo and Aquamarine.

Sharon Draper has a few books that I've never had long enough to read (I sell on-line, and this title sells quickly.) Tears of a Tiger is the story of a high school basketball player, the choices he makes and how it changes his life.

I am 13 and read regularly too, but mabey my choices of books are different than yours .. but in my english class we have read 2 novels : The Giver, and The Outsiders. They are both kind of old fashioned, the outsiders was even made into a movie with tom cruise, rob lowe, etc. But i enjoyed both of them soo much like every chapter kept me interested and made me want to read ahead. In fact i read the outsiders in only 3 days because i had to read ahead so much to find out what happened!! :) But yea thosea re my suggestions :D

I rarely have the time to sit down and read a book and when I do I have a rough time finding one I enjoy. My daughter is an avid reader and she's read all of Nicholas Sparks (ex:The Notebook) books. I've made sure to set aside the time to read a couple of his other books after she encouraged me to read The Notebook. Not really sure what you like, but you may want to give Nicholas Sparks books a try. Happy reading!

I don't know what kind of books you like but...here are some (they're mostly all fictional books..lol, hope you like fantasy)
The Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale- GREAT books!! I'm currently reading them and I really really really really like them!
Tamora Pierce's books- EXCELLENT books! If you read the Alanna books then their about a girl who wants to be a knight and she also can use magic.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini-GOOD fantasy books!
Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz- It has a lot of action/adventure/near death experiences in it.
The Enchanted Forest chronicle by Patricia C. Wrede-lol, another AWESOME fantasy books!
All of those books are terrific! Hope (if you read them) that you enjoy them!
