Graphic Design is a pretty vast field. It can mean any number of things:
- Design for print:
letterhead, envelopes, logos, packaging, signs, ads, catalogs
- Design for web
image collages/blends, e-blast flyers, flash websites, html sites
- Design for 3d animation
Depending on your level of expertise, you can be paid pretty well

A job in the "graphic design" field has quite a high pay rate. At least, it does around here (near Nashville, TN). I would definitely say it pays off. Especially if it's something you really love doing, not just being in it for the money.
I'm actually about to start school for graphic design. And according to them, it pays very well. My wife is going for Medical Billing & Coding, and that's one of the highest paying jobs in the medical field. That's when they said that I'd be making about twice as much. LoL. So I hope that helps.

graphic designing consists of desinging logos, and many other things for companys and yes it is a very high paying job if you are good at it. if you are interested in going to school for graphic design there is a very good school called ex'pressions it is an accredited school
