I was sitting my a psychiatrists office with my daughter and she asked the Dr. "How many times does my mom have to keep giving chances to my step dad?" Her answer is "she doesn't have to." If you have been in a situation where you have given someone chance after chance and they still take advantage of you, it is up to you to decide when the last chance will be. You can decide to give a person one, two and 100 chances. But the odds are if you have given more than a few, they aren't going to change and they will just keep hurting you.

you can't just say regardless because it really does depend on the person. If this is their first or second or third mistake, then maybe they deserve another chance. but if they just keep doing it and going and going, then you already know what the turn out will be.

Chances at what?

When it comes to forgiveness, it should be infinite. With that said, keep in mind that just because you forgive them does not mean that you have to continue being friends.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance, but you also have to follow your instincts.
