We have been good friends for a long time, but I am getting fed up with his behavior and his growing arrogance.

Let God strike his pride down. That's the only way.

Simple, just like you said it, Dude quit acting like your better than me or anyone else!! or "Money doesn't make you a better person than me" or " You obviously can't buy personality, you've proven that". Hope this helps and p.s. if he continues acting this way, tell him your not interested in being his friend anymore unless his behavior about his cash changes. But give him a chance, since you have been friends for a ling time. It is possible that you just outgrew each other, it happens, sad but true. Good luck!!

Well, this can go two different ways. If your friendship is that strong, I would bring it to his attention of his behavior and how it looks and it makes others feel. You don't want to be confrontational about it. Ex: "I know your financial status has changed, but I wished you were more sincere on things" and give examples if you have too. If he respects what you have to say etc..he'll change his tune. But if he explodes in your face and tries to place any "blame" on you, I'd keep him at arm's lenghth and not have that much in contact with him. Sooner or later, it will come back to him. The old saying "What comes around goes around". Trust me.
Keep me posted and good luck!!!

Just because you have money does not mean that you are better than us.

I wouldn't waste your breath though. He obviously thinks he's better than everyone. Just keep riding his coat tails and getting all of the free crap you can.

I knew (was not friends) with this chick whose parents are millionaires. She had an online blog about all of her "friends" and how much she hated everyone. This guy may not be as good of a friend as you think. Stop being his friend. He will see that it's lonely at the top.

Good luck!

You can't. He won't be able to hear you.

It is sometimes referred to as 'Yuppie Syndrome'.
"I have more money and nicer clothes - therefore I am a real person. You are not."

It is a part of the growing up / maturing process that some people try to skip because they don't want to consider themselves to be 'just like everyone else'.

It often takes a major illness, accident, or disaster to get them to realize that money does not make the man.

It just makes the man inconsiderate to others.

After having them take you out on a huge shopping spree, you should tell them about their behavior, this way you get things of your needs, and put your friend in their place. The whole lesson behind what I said above, is that you are showing them, that if they prance around their money, they are going to get used. Think of it as a lifes lesson for your friend.

Do you know what - don't bother. It is probably part of his upbrining so don't blame it all on him! When people have any arrogant complex nothing you can say or do will make him realise how much of an a$s he is.

Put it as gently as possible....say something like: I don't want to offend you, but sometimes you act like you are better than everybody else....it really bothers me that you act like that. Calm down and be yourself. Ask the friend if they would prefer to be liked for who they are or for their money? Maybe it will make them think twice before acting so arrogant.
