I am confused with the question. Are you speaking about a person who has been abused or someone that abuses people. If you are speaking about a person who has been abused than my answer would be "YES" it take much work and by that I mean therapy. Go to a therapist who speciality is working with abused people. There are many web site to find out where to get help and check your yellow pages or families. If you are the abuser. How can you be happy when you hurt people, that to would require help and the help of GOD. Good luck

I suppose they can be happy, but the one they are abusing is not. Abusive people get a thrill out of abusing others because it gives them a false sense of power.

Why not? Just because they have issues that cause them to be abusive, it does not mean that they can never be happy.
