Friday night I had the radio on and was dancing a little. It wasn't strenuous dancing, kind of like the dance you'd do at prom or at a club. Then it felt like a lead ball hit my leg. My leg has been hurting since and I can't straighten it. I've been limping since this started. The pain when I keep it still has gone down a great deal but not the pain when I try to straighten it. Whenever i try to it feels like my muscle is going to be pulled out. The pain started on the calf area. Now when I try to straighten it my ankle also hurts. On Tuesday night I found unexplainable bruises on my ankle and on my calf area. It's more like purple and black patches. They don't hurt if I press on them. Does anyone have an explaination what might be wrong with my leg? I can't see the doctor until Friday.

I couldn't see a doctor until Friday because I have work and school and I'm not in the mood to miss it.
It ended up being a pulled muscle.

You pulled a muscle it sounds like and how you did that is beyond me by dancing unless your one hell of a dancer.
Soak your leg in a five gallon bucket of hot water and epsom salt.

Does not sound like a torn ligament (above post). It may be a partial muscle tear, most likely of the gastrocnemius (the meaty part of the back of your calf). That would explain problems straightening the knee or the ankle. Trauma to the muscle may also explain the bruising.

(If i am right, go buy your local PT a Coke!)

As much as I hate to agree with a man Jason may be right. But what the world is wrong with your doctor. Your in pain, you have bruising and your limping. Did the office not understand you or does s/he just not care that you are not able to get around and that this is not crying wolf. Our medical system is truly something, if you actually need a doctor you wait weeks, sometimes months to see one and yet every day I see patients who come into the ER for a cough or a cold on T-19 (or whatever the equivalent is) and they get seen right away without so much as a by-your-leave. Put ice on th injured site for the first 24 hours and warmth after that. NSAIDS if you are able to take them and keep the injured limb elevated above your heart as much as possible to decrease the swelling. If the symptoms continue and you still waiting call your MD back and demand to be seen right away. Take care.

Sounds like you have torn a ligament, a ligament is strong tissue that joins bone to bone . Try not to strain it any more until you see a doctor, if it is swollen, apply cold in the form of ice wrapped in a towel for 15 mins on, 15 mins off.
