I'm cool with it. But I'm curious as to what other people make of this milestone. Do you celebrate it, or does it get you all depressed?

Congratulations but I always view it as only another day. Its when you get to forty you should be concerned-because the body changes. More wisdom seems to have been gained depending on lifestyle and your metabolism slows down. A larger waist begins to develop and a less urgent libido. The ladies get more beautiful and unattainable though ;-) But they still find those little jobs for you to do at the weekend Hehe. God bless 'em

I am 31 when I turned 30 I didn't think it was such a big deal your as old as you feel, right? But I have to tell you a lot has changed in a year - I have noticed my first grey hair, I have got more wrinkles, I have noticed more fat laying in places where it never used too, I have grown up a lot (matured) in that I have started to worry about my and my families future, I have stopped smoking, I have cut down a lot on drinking. I Could go on but I think you have the message, none of these things happened because I was in crisis over reaching 30, I find it all kind of weird, for the first time in my life I feel like a proper adult.....scary.

The 30s is rather depressing for many men. It's in their 40s when they tend to become wiser and start to view life in a more mature way. The 20s is just youth. I'd say that the mid 50s to the early 60s is the health problem belt. Heart attacks, cancer, etc.

Well, happy birthday in advance.

Oh to be 30 again and know then what I know now, your still a youngster at 30 and have plenty to go at, I went 50 at Christmas and didn't give a hoot about it, everyone else seemed to get depressed for me, life is too short so don't worry about going 30, live your life to the full and enjoy it big time.

Well, I did both! I cried when my co-workers gave me the black roses, and the over the hill crap. Then after work I went out and celebrated! Even though the thoughts of getting older depresses me, I am thankful everyday that I was given another day/year to experience/enjoy and the more days you have the more memories you have to remember! Years do not matter it is the memories you make everyday that does!

I love being in my 30s... sure 20s has the looks but 30s has the looks and the confidence as a person to go with it. Celebrate for sure :o)

Been there done that I'm now closer to 40. It was just another birthday, didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Life continued as normal but be warned after 35 the body starts falling to bits.

30 mis a very young age. It only sounds old because your not in your twenties anymore. 40 is young and they are saying that 50 is the new 40. Your a youngun. Celebrate it and don't be depressed.

I'm 41, and turning 30 was just another day... no celebrating, but definitely nothing to be depressed about...

Most of the people I know who turned 30 were OK with it until it actuallt came round. I personally partied and drank like it was the end of the world and had a great time.
