ive just aquired a clearseal pentagon tropical tank on a metal stand
what i would like to know is
do you need any kind of base between the stand and tank
ive always put polystyrene on a unit but this stand has no center
please help if you can

polystyrene isnt required . But do make sure the stand is level before fitting the tank

No, as long as the tank fits the stand without falling through. There should be edges on the stand for the fish tank to sit on, just make sure that you have it on those edges before you let go of the tank.

no need for a base as the weight is evenly distributed ,

No, you mustn't put anything under it, if you do it may cause the glass to break.
