Sounds like her ex is using their son to control her and that is sad. She as his mother has legal rights and that includes her right have visitation rights with her son. My concern is, why he has legal custody of their son and she does not? Just a thought.

As long as your g/f has visitation rights, his ex can't stop her from seeing her son. Shame on him for using the child as a pawn. Your g/f may need to go back to court to get this straightened out.

Not to be "smart" but this is such a serious problem your girlfriend needs to see a lawyer right away.
Her son needs his mother in his life and this problem is going to have adverse effects on his life.

She needs to seek legal advice ASAP and get a court order that allows her to see her son.
Your girls X is a ****** for doing this. Its blackmail.. its wrong.

he cannot do that to her. she has every right to see her child. she may have to go to back to court and have the judge make him aware of this. have her call the county courts for info

She needs to take him back to court! He cannot deny visitation!
Get a lawyer and take him back to court!!

the divorce papers should have details regarding visitation & if he is ignoring those details, he is in contempt of the court & she needs to take him to court. he cannot withhold visitation rights from her!
