Is it hard for an Enligh driver which is usually used to driving on the left hand side of the road to drive from Miami to Orlando? Is it safe? Is it easy to miss a turn in the highway? What is the speed limit?

Take the Florida Turnpike from Orlando to Fort Pierce / St. Lucie and then take I-95 all the way to Miami (it is cheaper if you do this). If you don't care about the tolls, take the Florida Turnpike all the way until you get to the Golden Glades (between Fort Lauderdale and Miami) and take I-95.

Driving is safe and convenient on the Florida Turnpike and it will save you a headache since the other highways are usually congested and more dangerous.

You'll get used to driving on the right side of the highway since most highways have a barricade or a median in the middle so you should not be confused as to which way you should be going.

It's not going to be especially easy, but it should be doable for a decent driver. Since you are new to the area, I would strongly recommend taking the Florida Turnpike all the way to Orlando. It will cost about $15-$20 US in toll money, but will save you time and the traffic is lighter. It will take you approximately 4-5 hours to make the trip. Once on the Turnpike, the speed limit is 70 miles per hour except at the Toll Plazas. The speed limits and exits are clearly posted.

It would be a good idea to rent a car with a GPS navigation system if possible. That will give you one less thing to concentrate on as you acclimate.

Well it will be difficult in any state in the US for you to get used to driving on the other side of the road. The drive from Miami to Orlando is all interstate highway. It should be very easy for you to follow the interstate 95 and interstate 8 signs. The speed limit is I think 65mph, not sure how many km/hr that is. Miami is safe in most spots. Make sure you stay in the tourist areas or South Beach. There are some places that I would not go to. Orlando is safe as well. There are some places in the downtown area that you may want to avoid. Overall I would say that Orlando is safer than Miami. Hope you enjoy your trip!

If you don't mind about five hours in the car and being able to anticipate what other drivers are going to do, you'll be fine. If you have detailed directions and someone to watch the signs, you should be okay. The posted speed limit is between 55 and 65 miles an hour - but you will probably get run over if you do that, many people tend to drive about 75 to 80 miles an hour or more. Be especially wary of any Lincoln Town Car with Florida tags - those are usually the craziest!

I have lived in both cities and have made this trip many times. The traffic is absolute insanity in both places. I absolutely do not recommend it for any inexperienced driver. The speed limit varies from 55 to 65 but you will find that many travel 5 below the spped limit or 15 over the limit. I am not kidding. I consider myself a pretty experienced driver and yet I cringe every time I have to travel the Turnpike and I95 because it is scary and you cannot falter for even a split second.
