I recently had some photographs taken in a studio. I received a contact sheet (small images in order to choose which ones I want to purchase) and selected the photographs I wanted. I am due to collect them on Saturday but my partner noticed some problems with the ones I selected, for example there is a huge crease in the white paper they used. The studio also promised to remove a clump of hair from another photo I selected. I am concerned that this company will not correct any of these things and will want me to pay for the photographs. Where do I stand legally?

If they can airbrush some of the muts into zoo, it will be fairly easy to correct those things. Maybe call them and ask, but if theyve given u a contact sheet, im assuming theyd be pros enough to airbrush the crap out

What you are talking about is contract law.

When you agree to pay for services rendered, you are forming a contract with the other party. Where you stand depends on what you have already agreed to prior to this point.

Have you signed any forms agreeing to pay for the photographer's services? If so, did the contract contain a clause guaranteeing your personal satisfaction?

Assuming you have not already agreed to pay regardless, then you can simply inform the photographer that you will only pay if the photos and prints meets your specifications.

Your rights in a contract dispute depend entirely on what you have agreed to, and what the contract says. Laws also vary by state, as to what remedies either side may have.
