Well educated, moral, firm grasp of the world as a whole, leadership experience, realize our national threats, someone who respects the Constitution, and who doesn't have special interest groups holding a leash, and one that doesn't want to endorse isolationism.

I think that we need to look for a president that isn't a joke of the international community because he chooses to look like a fool through his lack of word usage capability. We need someone who is more interested in stabilizing the economy through trading things that we as a society can't make rather then just importing cheaper and cheaper products by using foreign diplomacy to deregulate corporations. A president who encourages unbiased media that is not consolidated to be owned by three or four major corporations so that we can get diversified news that is closer to being truthful and factual. Someone who has and USES a PLAN to get us out of Iraq without just leaving the country after destroying it for more then just the terrorist cells but also the civilians. Someone who not only knows what he is capable of doing legally and follows those ideologies we as the American people have agreed to while encouraging the other politicians to follow by HIS example.

The list could be SO long that it would take me forever. Bush is that much of a person who is so grossly wrong for the job that it is amazing he was voted for a second term.

Impossible as it is, I'm looking for someone who will stay true to his own morals and not sway one way or the other based on political advantage. I also want someone who is completely honest -- again, no politics here, just simple honesty regardless of the situation. I want this person to favor removing government from ALL private affairs, and will work to reduce it to its original role of protecting the citizens' rights, not their pocketbooks. This person must also work to remove us from international relations to the point only of trading with them, and will have a good sense of when and how to defend the country. I know it's all idealistic and will never happen (not while I'm alive), but that person would be my choice. I'll take whoever's closest to that, but right now I'm not seeing that person anywhere...

Great question! I'm not sure I can do it justice.

Intelligence, honesty, courage, vision, principles, ethics, organization, an ability to pick good people to serve with him (or her - assume I say it throughout), being able to deal with all types of people, skill at knowing when to stick to his decisions and when to change his mind, the ability to inspire the country, etc.

I'm sure there are a hundred other things I could think of, and will once I log off! :)

Obviously the political positions matter, but CHARACTER - what kind of person we elect, is important too. Who knows what he - and we - will face in the next four years!

Yes while George is going out the front Bill and Hilary will be packing all they can out the back door just like when Bill went out of office. Did the White house ever recover the furnishings that left with the Clinton's
TALK ABOUT SORRY PEOPLE!

I am looking for somebody who will hold to the values they advertise. I will definitely be voting for a conservative candidate because of my economic views more than anything. I want to see lower taxes and a more limited government role.

Ironically at this time, the only major Republican candidate that is a true conservative is Mitt Romney from Massachusetts.

Every politician will tell you what you want to hear. Morals, values, plan, principals, character, education--blah blah blah. That would be lovely if we were not at war and the world did not hate us.

What we need at this time of history is someone ruthless. Someone that will jerk the rug out from underneath you when you least expect it. Someone with a backbone--a woman--you did not ask who so I wont say.

Honest, good morals with a strong family tradition. A person who says what they mean and believes, not what everyone else want to hear. Bush says and acts as he believes is in our best interest!

Someone more fiscally responsible and proactive with the military (not just ranting about running away or kicking ***...someone with some common sense). I would love it to be a woman but I don't like Hillary much. I just hope whoever it is can help the US.

One thing I do know Mister Conservative I don't look for your Republican party elects. I always look for a good Democrat like Hillary Clinton along with that great husband of hers , Bill Clinton. What a party we are going to have showing old George that door letting him catch a bus right to that old Crawford Door cause Air Force One will be no more, GOOD RIDDANCE.
