Dear One,
I have asked and asked this too...been alot of things happen in my life to test my faith and cause me to shake my fist at God...what's the point?, I asked...well, you can read books, watch documentaries, watch movies, ask questions in Yahoo answers...I've done it all..including making a serious suicide attempt ...why all the feelings of futility? Right?
I am beginning to see that I have been in God's hands the whole time...and that it's OK to doubt..it's OK to spit at the Heavens in anger( something I actually did after the death of my husband) it's OK to reach the edge of the cliff...it's not OK to allow the Devil to steal our joy and hope. Dear one, I feel your sorrow and pain...I've been there and, at times, I'm still sorrowful...but I have cried out loud, "HELP" (yup a one word prayer) because that all I could muster in strength...God is Faithful and He won't drop you...you are in His Hands this very moment...just rest awhile...it's OK

Love,
Gone (I choose "Gone" because my "old" self is gone)

I think what may be going on with you is you lack a focal point? Are you unsure about why you exist or where your going with life and what life is?

Complex; try enjoying it while you have it and try not dwelling on the "why" and go with the "why not"...:)

Why not have fun, I think, I feel, therefore, I am!

You are here because you want to be, you can take a biological stance and say "I was born" therefore I am.

You can take a religios stance and say "God made me" and wants me to do this...or that....

Or.............you can be honest about yourself, and say, I am clueless, yet as honest about it as anyone has ever been; I do not know who made the Universe or even Why they made it, I do not Know God well, or if there is one...

If you seek purpose in life, you can find that by helping another in need; this is purpose; you can ask a zillion questions and get a zillion different answers, yet, the truth is about what you want from Life and what your willing to take from it. If you need challenges, learn to rock climb, that will wake you up from the mundane world.

If your looking for a spiritual answer, Heaven-Hell-Angles-God; try searching "Jane Roberts" and the Seth materiels. This is ten volumns of work you must read a few....really.

Long ago, I would have asked the same questions. Then I took stock of what was around me and decided that, only if you believe in yourself, will the answer arrive. Angels, God, or gods. What's the point? None of these things exist. Human beings are basically weak, unsure and indecisive. They need something to believe in and religion or some such beliefs (I think it's called faith) give them a security. False but they like it. Pick up your own bed and walk tall. Be a proper person. Believe in yourself and you'll succeed.

You really just need to educate yourself....finding different philosophies will help you to find your own faith. I personally have faith in God and Christianity...but what works for me may not work for others. You will find your way.
If this feeling or these thoughts keep you from being productive you may want to see a psychologist...it may be some sort of "obsession" or "anxiety". Sometimes the unsatisfied feelings can be a result of chemical imbalances.
You will find your way...and when you do ...you will sigh with relief.
Redirect your thoughts a little and think of the characteristics you want to relay with your life and behavior and the rest should follow..

If you find your answer in a book, a movie or an experience, then once the experience is over, the book or movie has ended then you will have the same hole again.

I find that the purpose of life is an ongoing thing. Just enjoy the actual experience of living life. There is nothing more to it really. Life is an amazing thing and whatever you do with it is up to you.

Keep a journal and start making lists of all the people, things, places, etc. that both make your life better, and make your life worse. Then, begin making the changes you see as necessary to find peace for yourself. When it comes to people, in particular, it may be very difficult to limit or terminate contact with people who are "toxic" to your well-being, but you will never find inner peace if you allow them to continue to sabotage you. Good luck!

Sounds so familiar. I used to feel like that all the time from the second I opened my eyes til the second I closed my eyes. It sucked. What totally changed my life was getting pregnant & Married and giving birth to my son who is now 6 months old. He is the best. He keeps me so busy and makes me so happy that I dont have time to feel that down - what is this life for feeling. That is how mine ended. Good luck with yours. Try keeping extra busy doing things that you really enjoy and spending time with people that you enjoy spending time with........

Climb a high hill and look around, take some time.

Then say ''Thank You'' for allowing me to be a witness to life.

You may get the answer you seek.
