When I was a kid, we put them in the microwave. I only eat them once or twice a year these days, but I prefer them cooked on a grill. I don't understand people who boil them!

i pickle my hot dogs in beer. the minute i get them home from the store i put them in a mason jar with a can of beer until I'm ready to use than i just throw the whole thing in a pot to heat up. i also make a red onion sauce to go on them . its great
For the onion sauce
one med onion slice or dice any way you want
in a frying pan cook the onion in olive oil until tender
salt and pepper to your taste half a can of tomato sauce
let simmer a few minutes and just put on the dog its great
you may also doctor it to your liking . maybe you would like it a little more spicy or sweet .
I hope you will try them.

I prefer them to be cooked on the grill. They just seem to taste better that way.

Always on the grill especially Sahlen's hot dogs that I think you can only get around Buffalo NY. But they are defenitely worth the trip up there!

Ideally, cooked over a beach bonfire!
But for other times, I usually either cook them over the fire on my stove, or I just microwave the suckers...

I used to hate heating them in the microwave so I used to boil them in very minimal water to retain the taste but my son won't wait for that so now I wrap the weenie in the bun in a paper towel and heat it for 30 seconds and for some reason I like them like that now too.

Grilled!!! It's the best! A little bit crispy on the outside, and hot on the inside!

Over the grill, where you get those nice black grill marks.
And yes, I'm aware that they cause cancer.
