For goodness sakes, to me it actually seems to take LONGER to write. Even if people can understand it, it's irritating to read and makes the writer appear uneducated. If you want to put that silly gibberish on your cell phones to talk to your immature little friends, fine. However, it would be appreciated if you would type like a manner that shows you have self respect while using this forum. Why on Earth would someone thirteen or fourteen years old think it's 'cool' to spell worse than a SIX YEAR OLD?

I agree!!!! I'm okay with some abbreviations (b/c, w/) and even some slang (btw=by the way) but COME ON!
Small lesson for all the answerers....look to the top right of your answer box....See the little "abc" box that says "Check Spelling" right next to it? USE IT!

B cuz it particularly is far less annoying and quicker 2 spell jointly as u r typing or speaking to somebody who needs 2 spell out long words while they r typing besides it kinda kool thinking up of ways 2 spell words in diverse tactics lol

The times are changing. The older you get the more you notice these changes. It isn't good or bad, it just is. Now, if these children continue to spell like this in schools it could force them to fail, but I think it is mostly used online to shorten typing time. It may take a while for you type out, but they are pretty good at it.

well its not koo if ur doin it jus to b koo, but if ur doin it so u aint gotta type a lot then it makes sense, just so long as u dont do it so much u actually forget how to really spell the words lol

Well in my opinion, i don't think its 'cool' but it does help if you tend to make text messages long, it shortens the amount of characters you use. I know i have that problem. But i have yet to find why people do it on the Internet.

It is very irritating and gives me a headache. I am blown away sometimes when I find out that it was a grown adult writing, when I assumed it was a young teenager.

Why does anyone have to follow what you think should be used on the this forum? I however type just as I am, but I can do the other too. It is part of generation. Y! Answers is for everybody, it says no where how we have to type. We can type in Spanish if we wanted to. Who do you think you are?
