All of that is completely normal! The gush coming from the fact that when you cough and sneeze, your stomach muscles, uterus included, contracts. Since the blood is housed inside the uterus, during this contraction the blood is pushed out harder and faster. The diarrhea comes from your body's normal routine of cleansing. During menses, the body cleans out not only the uterus but also the bowel to keep everything healthy and to avoid bacteria overgrowth which can cause infections. It's the same way as a woman who is about to deliver a child.

Sweetie, You can't stop any of these things from happening. It's all part of the natural process of the body. Yes blood can gush out if your coughing and sneezing, and I get diarrhea before my period comes on, and the day it actually starts. It's like this every month for me that's how I know it's coming on. I know it's awful, but your not alone. It's all part of being a woman. I hate it, the guys always have it so easy!!!!

I always got diarrhea at the start of every period. That was how I knew it was coming. Also, the gushing thing, that happens too. It is just part of being a woman. I used to wear a tampon and a pad for extra protection.

Perfectly normal. The channel the blood flows out of sometimes gets cut off when the body is in certain positions or laying flat (gravity can't work). The blood pools in the birth canal and squishes out easy.

Don't know how to help with "Ballerina." Sorry. But I can tell you, that too, is normal. Happens to all of us. For me, it's a welcome release of all the water I've retained so I don't complain about it.

It does happen. Make sure you are using an absorbant enough pad(may take some research-but I am stuck on "always")You may even want to use a tampon on heavier flow days.
And as far as the diarrhea goes-ayuh! That's normal too. Eat bananas, cheese, applesauce, potatoes-all that stuff is binding. Get some Immodium(or generic OTC anti-diarrheal med).

I can't believe that someone has actually asked this question...and that I'm actually answering it. But yes...it happens to me all the time. It's such an awful feeling. I don't think there is anyway to stop it.
And as for the diarherrea - yup...get that too. Wish I had an answer for you to help you out in stopping it...but I don't. Sorry.

Yes it's totally normal. You can't stop it, it's your muscles doing it. Use a tampon and it won't gush out. The other part, there is no real way to stop that either.

you cant stop the blood from gushing out, it is a normal response to your sneeaing or coughing as pressure is exerted throughout your body, i often get diaorrehea as well, and have been told it is hormonal, so again cant stop it, sorry

whatever you do, dont take midol. it will just make diarrhea worse because of the diarretic. I suggest Imodium AD, and as for the sneezing. i get that all the time but i dont notice the gushing because of my cup, but when i used pads it was bad. Im guessing it causes a spazm.

when you sneeze, it makes those muscles contract which can cause you to gush some. you can't stop it unless you have really good control of those muscles. diarrhea is from what you eat mostly. or take pepto bismol or something.
