Ok so I have a 1999 Ford mustang. Lately my wipers will go on by themselves out of no where, and the other day I rolled my windows down and they wouldn’t go back up till a few minutes later. Some people have said it could be my spark plugs or fuses. But I need some input. I don’t want to pay someone just so they can tell me what’s wrong, and then pay again to fix it. Also my right door won’t unlock, it has to be opened from the inside. It’s not manual. Can someone give me any ideas on what it could be???

Uh no I don't think my car has a "spirit" haha I bought it new. I'm more convinced its something to do with the wires.

I found 3 TSB's regarding your wipers turning on when in the off position. All 3 refer to the multi-function switch.

Your window problem is most likely a seperate issue. Was it just one window that did not work or all inop.

The door problem is most likely a broken handle or rod has come loose inside door.

Good luck

1st off its nothing to do with your spark plugs..

if its just wipers and windows it could be two separate problems.
A dodgy switch on your wiper stalk, making them come on with little vibration, rather then a proper click on
and a faulty wire or connector to the widow switch or window motor, i would struggle to believe the motor has problems on a 1999 car.

If its this and a few other problems id guess there's a problem at your fusebox, causing electrical systems to short.

Id take it to a garage, but ask them about it before you book it in, you should be able to gauge their competence with a few questions, as if they have no idea what their doing following wires can be a costly experience.
Don't go to Ford. their rates are excessive and they'd do nothing any other garage would do.

There have been reports that the spirit of Christine is running around, looking for another Plymouth to occupy. But since your car is a 'Stang, the spirit thing is out. Sounds like you may have a computer chip problem, since its a '99. If you have intermitent wipers, more so. Sounds like you have power everything anyway. So get someone who has a vehicle computer readout, there are some reasonable companies out there, and fix the glitch. If you find that Plymouth, e-mail me.

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer that had a similar problem and it was recalled so I did a search on your vehicle make and model and the following site came up and described a problem with the windshield wipers coming on while the controls were off. Your vehicle might be involved... The site was: http://www.mustangforums.com/recalls-and-tsbs/make_FORD/model_MUSTANG/year_1999/id_6407/TSB.htm ...Good Luck...

It seems like you have an electrical problem some short circuit in your wiring, believe me it can NOT be your sparkplugs, all your problems is electrical as you say it is not working manual it is and will only be an electrical problem, don't go to the dealer and say that they should see what is wrong and then pay them for the check out, rather go to them and tell them you know it is a electrical(wiring) problem and they should fix it by doing that they will only bill you for the repairs.........it is electrical....believe me!!!
Good luck and watch out for the guys that they don't do you in..........

I would suggest taking it to a Ford dealership for them to tell you what is wrong. I myself would have to say it's something to do with the wiring, perhaps there's a short circuited wire somewhere that needs to be replaced.

uh no, dealerships are stealerships, they take ur money. check all your fuses, the owners manual tells you which fuse goes to the wipers and windows etc. if all the fuses are not blown then it might be the alternator. if u need to take it somewhere, go to a gas station, or repair shop but the dealership should be ur last resort

My wise mind tells me that you have a spirit occupying your car. Try and find out who the past owners were and if someone had an unfortunate incident in the car. Your answer may lie there.
