Dreamgirls was originally a Broadway stage play back in the early 80's. It's loosely based on the rise of Diana Ross and the Supremes (some things are similiar, but it's not about them). The movie is something everyone should see. It's not about Black or White or Brown, but about music and the struggles that these groups went thru back in the day. The singing is excellent, especially when Jennifer Hudson sings that one famous song of the play and movie. Definitely see it, because no matter what, I truly think you'll enjoy it!!!
p.s. there were just as much white people in the theatre on opening day where i saw it! lol

I have a promotional copy of the movie and I watch it everyday. I'm at the point now where I just go to the musical scenes, but I love the entire movie. I know all of the words and choreography.

yea i seen it like 5 times its a great movie with a great purpose. people say that there is to much singing
