I understand that everyone has their own opinions, but why can't some people answer with respect, instead of putting down genetic, racial, or gender based groups, or making comments that are designed to anger, insult, or place someone in a stereotype?

people automatically assume that most people are like them, since we tend to live in areas where people share many similarities whith their neighbors (race, class, education...). we therefore assume (incorrectly) that everyone has had similar experiences through life. when they come across a question that in their social circles is common knowledge, they forget that they might be answering a question for someone who is from a different social circle, and respond impolitely.

cuz u want answers and everyone will say whatever their heart WANTS, it's not a school to have rules, but however i understand what u mean and ppl have to understand their limits but in general they've got as much as freedom they want. However, u have the right to report if u think someone is abusing. Overall, be prepared for anything cuz not everyone in this world is polite, respectful nice and curteous. yeah i know it would be nice if they did but then there will be no flavour, no uniqueness, that's the hard way, i had to learn, i wish everyone could like me and be nice too but they cant and we cant change them. Who knows, maybe God will punish the bad people or give us something good in return, leave it to the hands of authorites and God. A mircale if they realize they have to change themselves but some dont so yeah... dont take it too hard, if everyone has good morals then they know what is nice to say and what is not nice to say, what is insulting and what is not, but not everyone takes the time to think right? however, if people say their opinion and it is insulting, they first have to have enough support to back up their opinion they cant just talk out of the blue AND be rude. but hey not everyone does that so nothing u can do, just enhance ur character to better, be a good role model and help that's all u can do.

I have the same question.
What you have to understand is that not everyone (like you and me) have high a standard of writing( and a clean mind). Some people think that it's OK to just mouth off, without even thinking that what they are saying might offend or even dirty the minds of those who are reading the message. I think that most people think that it is the "cool" thing to do(but it's not, or some people do it just for attention( pretty ridiculous if you ask me). I totally agree with your question and hope that what I have said might give you and idea of why people do do things like that.
I am happy to know that there are at least some people that still think that doing that is wrong. Your great! : )

maybe the ones that do that dont have any respect for humankind. they might have a pea brain that doesnt comprehend nice remarks .i suppose some people cant answer so they just come up with anything but that shows you the level of their intelligence, some people just think its funny to be crude and rude that may be the way they were brought up or taught they do not know any better so just have to look over them and give them a break. maybe they cant help themselves and they need some help maybe you can help them .

Because it takes real effort to be polite and even kind. I love being kind and I rarely give negative answers. Sometimes, very rarely I too am in a bad mood... but I try not to pass that on to others. I have found that if i do put in the effort to be nice, friendly and serious, other people do the same with me. And some time ago I became so angry and dissappointed in the world because everyone was so negative.....
Until I realized I was the one who wasn't being very nice either... it takes effort. real effort, to always be friendly and kind. but I do like it better than those people who choose to be negative.
Have a nice Day!!

Let's face it - most people don't have any manners AT ALL... the general public are @$$holes but as long as you keep a good attitude and treat others with respect then you will be just fine... I think of it like this - they are the ones who have to go through everday like that :) Have a good day!

Some people prefer to be funny or insulting than to actually provide advise.... Im not gonna lie there has been one or two answers from me that have just be a 'smart comment' to a childish or 'stupid' question but i will never be insulting or rude, thats just disrespectful!

Unfortunately, far too many people just don't use or were not raised properly enough to use "common sense" as they should have been! This is not to say that every time a person responds to a question will answer insultingly, it is to say that many people refuse to think first before responding! Too many people respond with their emotions first instead of their brains!!!

There are some incredibly stupid questions posted here.
I believe the honest questions are receiving good answers, but a lot, maybe most of the questions are just too ridiculous to answer nicely.

I agree. That's why we should all rate the answers. If it's bad, give it a thumbs down. If it's really bad, report it. If it's polite and intelligent, give it a thumbs up. If we all did that more, our forum would look a lot cleaner.
