I woke up this morning and noticed that my right side of my face was swollen. I kinda let it go bc I though maybe I was just tired, and imagining it. When I went to lunch with my hubby he was loooking at me all weird, and he said that my face was swollen. It is under my eyes, and around my eyes, more on the right than the left. When i went in last friday they said I had a little bit of elevated stuff in my urine, but they were not worried, and my blood pressure seemed okay (they did not say anything about it being high...it is higher than normal...but that is not odd for pregnancy).

I dont know...I am just wondering what is going on. I have pain in my upper abdomen when i bend down...but that has been happening for a while, they called it a "hot spot" or a nerve thing.

The doctor wants me to come in tomorrow morning instead of my monday morning appt. What do you think?? Any thoughts?? Any advice?

Thanks!!!

Well I have 4 kids and I didnt have any problems with blood pressure or swelling until my last one, who is going on 4 months now. I had PIH-pregnancy induced hypertension, gestational diabetes, and was on my way to pre-eclampsia. I started out with swelling and then protien in my urine and then my blood pressure was high. I was put off work at 32 weeks, my Dr. had me come in twice a week to check baby's BPP (biophysical profie), my blood pressure, my sugar, and a NST. Finally at 36 weeks my baby was not moving as much as she should and her BPP was 2 out of 8 so he immediately admitted me to the hospital and induced labor. Of course I have big babies so she weighed 7lbs7oz at 36 weeks but she still had transition problems--which means she wasn't breathing well outside of the womb. But it was less of a risk to have her early then to wait with my medical problems getting worse. You need to go to your doctor with any problem no matter how stupid you may think your question or problem is....It's always better to be safe then sorry. Good Luck and Congrats on the new baby.

well are you having any other swelling? it could be just normal or if there is elevated protein in your urine and your blood pressure is high it could be preclampsia and at 34 weeks i wouldn't get to excited about anything bad because I had my little boy at 28 weeks and hes just fine hes going to be 2 and is about 30lbs so just relax and don't worry

I would go to the doctor just to make sure everything was ok. You can't mess around with swelling during pregnancy. Best of luck to you

Sudden swelling is certainly cause for concern. Your blood pressure can be fine one minute and shoot up the next. See your doctor asap.

Sounds like preeclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension. You might have had some elevated protein in your urine last Friday. Your BP might be elevated as well now. You need to take it easy. Just to prewarn you, you might need bedrest so take it easy!

You could be suffering from preelamsia or maybe just edema. I suggest you go see your doctor and have a complete exam done to rule out anything.

Call the doctor. It is not a good sign but if you catch it now then something can be done.
