My boyfriend is older and very financially secure. I live in his home, don't work because of traveling with him. I really don't have much and he has everything. Why do I feel like I'd rather be poor living on my own than the peasant girlfriend?
He gave me a beautiful so called (ha!) engagement ring but how can lt work if when he dies he leaves everything to his kids? Do I start glueing cardboard boxes together? I expect to receive some pure H E.. double LL's here to use as motivation to get a life of my own.

You are discovering that walking along side the prize really doesn't do it for you. Good for you. You deserve better. The way to find happiness and security is to find it within yourself, becuase that is where it lies always.
If you truly love this man and aren't in it just for the perks then you should have the discussion with him about your desires. And, honestly, there is no reason why you can't live with him and have a life of your own as well. It really isn't your business if he likes it or not.
However, if you truly feel you would rather be independent and poor... then you will probably find you are quite rich when you actually make that a reality in your life.

Once you get married, I'm sure you would be written into his will. Until then, I wouldn't say anything because you will come off as a gold digger. When you love someone you make sacrifices... and it sounds like he is taking care of you just fine. If you do not want to sacrifice a career, then get a job and stop travelling with him.

make sure u will be taken care of if he should die, make sure he provides for u in his will, your giving him something, he should want to take care of u in case he is gone, if not he is just using u. get a job, get some self respect, make him marry u, he needs to think of what will happen to u once he is gone.

His kids SHOULD come first, you are only his private w*hore. Have some self respect and get a job so you aren't "kept" by him.
