Best animal parents? That keep their babies for the longest time, take care for the best? etc.?? I need this for a graphic project. Thanks

I'd say all primates are pretty good in this area: humans, chimps, gorillas, monkeys, baboons, etc. This is something they all have in common.

As for non-primates, I'd say it varies. Kangaroos do a good job...carrying their young around with them for a very long time.
Prairie dogs are probably some of the most efficient parents: they actually assign others in their clan to be baby-sitters for them. The whole clan acts as "parents" for the young, if you think about it.
Members of the feline family are pretty good too...they are fierce protectors of their young.

The extreme for parental care of infants, and the longest development time from birth to maturity actually occurs in the human species (Homo sapiens).

We spend more time and energy on protection and nurturing our offspring than any other species.

probably wolves ,they are very good parents
if one parent dies a brother or sister takes its place to protect the young with out mating with the remaining parent

Gorillas. They're a lot like humans, and though it's a cartoon, look at Tarzan.
