I keep worrying that I've got various physical aliments that I don't actually have. This is causing me more stress than it's worth. I'm not really sure what to do about it.

Paranoia? You need to put yourself and your unimportant existence into a healthier perspective. Use of reason and some philosophy will help you to understand that you are not that important and that you are far from the center of the world, even your world. Understand yourself and your wolrd around you, then you will realize your true absolute and relative worth and value. Then you will be able to restrain those silly emotions related to egocentrism and loving yourself way too much. Gotta get real.

This is hard to tackle, but you can do it through intellectually knowing that these are irrational thoughts and then by practicing some relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or tensing and releasing your muscles from you head down to your feet. Focus your attention on someone else or another activity until you have calmed yourself.

Also, notice how you are feeling and when these thoughts occur. You may be able to pinpoint what is triggering them and either deal with the real problem or avoid situations that bring them on.

If you continue to have problems, or these type of thoughts and anxiety interfere with your daily activities, I suggest you seek medical help.
