Yeah, they are. But its O.K.!!! As much as I hate to say it......we all knew deep down the lakers weren't a championship team this year and this is really just giving guys like Bynum, Turiaf, and Farmar real playing time and decent minutes. Patience is a virtue and thats what Laker fans need right now, a lot of patience. We have stars in the making (Walton and Bynum). You heard it here first ........... 08-09 season "Your NBA champs, The Los Angeles Lakers"

Seriously they do

- Chris Mihm was supposed to start the year but his ankle is in a very bad shape and he's out for the season.
- Kwame injured his shoulder and now his ankle and the only reason he's playing now because Lamar and Luke are out.
- Odom the second best player on the team suffered a knee injury and was not even close to 100% weeks after he came back. But he got his shoulder injured and looks like he's done for the season.
- Luke walton is gonna miss another week with the high ankle sprain he suffered
- Kobe has an hyperextended elbow and he's been playing minutes like crazy (until last nights suspension)

This team is playing with a bunch of end of the bench guys and somehow they're hanging in there in the rough and tough western conference at 6th place and 90% of their losses have been on very tight games not blowouts

- If you get into a first round playoff series against the lakers, you're gonna have trouble becasuse of no.24...because of his sheer athleticism, will and determination, he's gonna make sure the team does better than last year

Other than dallas, every other western conference team looks beatable for the lakers. The other teams may win a game here, a game there in a playoff series, but over the long run, this team can grind it out...the injuries have been kind of a blessing in disguise and it gives guys more experience and makes them ready for the playoffs which is pressure filled.

No Doubt

The Lakers opened the season without their starting center in Mihm who's been out all year, then they named Kwame as the starting center and he has missed a ton of time

Odom is their second best player and he's missed a ton of time due to injury and is most likely done for the year

Walton has been out a long time and the lakers struggles started as soon as he went down

Lakers are basically playing without 3 starters, magine if they were healthy all year

they'd probably be the 3 seed the way they were playing with everyone there

Yep, pretty much. If all these injuries didn't occur, they might be much better off. Probably the biggest blow was losing Luke Walton. He was having a very productive year, and then it stopped. Now, the Lakers are forced to fight their way into the post season of a strong Western Conference. Say what you'd like, the Lakers have just had horrible luck.

No it's the Nets by far.So far everyone in their starting 5 plus some bench players have been hurt.

Kidd sore back missed around 3-4 games
Carter quad injury missed time at start of season.
Richard Jefferson Ankle needed surgery
Nenad Krstic out for the season after knee surgery
Collins missed 5+ games so far this year

bench players
Eddie House missed the begginning of the season after having knee surgery

Cliff Robinson was out after knee scope surgery for start but is back.

And last but not least Josh Boone missed the begginning of the season after having shoulder surgery for an injury he suffered during the off-season

How is that for luck?!

Not hardly man. The Heat are having a lot more trouble with injuries. Dwayne Wade is out for the season, and Kapono is out for at least 2 more weeks.

At least the Lakers still have Kobe.

nope. its Golden State and New Orleans. yea nobody pays attention to the lesser known teams. at least for houston one of their stars were still playing.

GS: lost baron and jrich at the same time for numerous games. baron had sugery on his knee, jason had surgery on his knee and hand a broken right hand. we lost our starting backcourt. how good is SA w/o parker and manu. how good is detroit w/o billups and hamilton. how good is new jersey w/o kidd and carter. exactly they arent good. its even amazing that the warriors are alive in the playoff chase in the WEST. and we missed monta ellis to a few games due to shoulder problems, we lost barnes for a couple games. we lost pietrus for several games due to a sprained ankle. we missed diogu for about a month in november. there were times when we only dressed 8 players. we had to bring in DLeaguers like renaldo major and kelenna azubuike. now that we have a healthy team, people can see what we can do. we whooped detroit by 25+ pts and we just creamed the nuggets. the warriors are good when healthy.

NO: they lost 60% of their starting rotation. they lost paul, west, and peja. and its amazing that theyre still in the playoff race too. now that theyre healthy they will do well.

these 2 teams have been hit hardest with injuries. lakers lost odom and walton and brown, but they still had kobe, losing walton, odom, brown doesnt compare to GS losing its entire starting backcourt or NO losing 3 great starters.

Here in Houston, our big men ... Yao Ming and Tracey McGrady have consisently been ridiculed with injuries. And just when Yao is beginning to play more agressively. God forbid that Houston could actually have a championship team again. Those were the days.

nicely Howard replaced into injured till now he grew to develop right into a Lakers. so as that ought to no longer likely count variety, Nash performed approximately 2/third of the season the final 2 years till now he grew to develop right into a Lakers so as that ought to no longer likely count variety the two because of the fact as of the previous few years he been harm services and that they knew this whilst they sign him. he's 39 years of age and injuries take a toll whilst a gamers get up in years and has particularly some mileage on their physique the only harm for my area that replaced into out of the dark replaced into Hill. Gasol now and lower back neglected video games and if Howard replaced into no longer right here then a number of those video games that Gasol neglected he could of performed in simple terms like Howard performed whilst Gasol went out whilst he replaced into resting his shoulders. Artest, like I stated, whilst an athlete grow previous they have a tendency to get injuries that they shouldn't are starting to be to be 5 years till now. so some distance as Kobe, to no longer placed blame on everyone, Phil Jackson no remember what could have had kobe fooling around intense half-hour and now and lower back extra yet i think of the massive volume of minutes that kobe performed no longer in basic terms this 365 days yet final yet exceedingly this 365 days and with them attempting to make that playoff push i think of what finally grew to develop into the catalyst of kobe harm. He could of suffered it no remember what yet particularly some injuries of those nature are that the physique had no longer had time to heal or to take a seat back and a individual with taking part in 18 years and taking part in extra minutes this 365 days than he had probable interior the final 10 years it finally caught as much as him.
