I already see a partern in my daughter (14) with the boys she likes and it worries me that she may be destine to have a potentially abusive relationship when she becomes older.
She has a little boyfriend now that is a great kid, he is very concerned for her feelings and is easy to talk to, but she is thinking of breaking up with him to go back with her old boyfriend who did nothing but make her cry. He would not call nor would he come over to the house. He is 15 and I felt like he had something to hide.
Just to give you a little back ground on what kind of people my husband and I are; we have the house that all the kids hang out at and we are very active with the kids. The 2 of us are taking a group of them to a Fall Out Boy concert in April. So I don't see why he would not be will to come over and just hang out with my daughter.

As much as you want to tell your daughter who she should or shouldn't see, you have to fight that urge. Just explain to her that you support her, that you want her to grow up to be a strong woman who doesn't let men walk all over them.

Tell her you want to see her with someone who cares about her as a person, and who doesn't make her cry. Tell her that she deserves respect.

Worst case: She gets back together with him. Make sure to be warm and encourage them to see eachother - at your house.

When girls are young, feelings are strong and hot and cold. Be active and concerned, but not overpowering. You seem to be doing a great job with her and I'm sure it will work out fine.

I know you don't want to hear this, but 14... that's a bit young.
Boyfriends early - leads to sex early - leads to possibility of pregnancy early. She's 14, she's precious - no boy is right for her.
